Is it safe to buy property in Thailand?

2 Answer(s)

Yes, it’s quite safe in fact. Plenty of people purchase property in Thailand each year. Foreigners are allowed to own condominium units outright (up to 49% of units in the condo building). Foreigners can also own the villa property, and lease the villa’s land for 30-year stretches, up to 3 times in a row.

From my experience, buying property in Thailand is a safe as you want it to be. The magic words are ‘DUE DILIGENCE’

    1. Due Diligence – Property Developer or Property Seller
    2. Due Diligence – Ownership Titles or Land Structure
    3. Due Diligence – Property Agent

Make sure you check all these three out in detail before moving ahead with any form of purchase.
