How long does the hole process of buying and registering property take?
Are 4 weeks enough?

The great thing is once you find a trusted lawyer, they can manage and do the whole transaction for you while you are overseas.  Its very unlikely it will be done in 4 weeks. Things work a little slower here than in the west or even other parts of Asia.

Buying is simply signing a reservation agreement or sales and purchase agreement and sending the 10% deposit. After this the lawyer will do a due diligence to check all the legal and finances of the property/company are legit.

If its a lease or freehold the process is difference but typically allow for around 2-3 months for a transaction.

Disclaimer: I am the owner of a real estate company in Phuket and have experience with all types of real estate transactions for the last 10 years.
